It takes a village

August 24, 2017

The Harbour Village in Kennedy Town is excited to throw open its doors on a bright new space for our 4 and 5-year old Preparatory students.

The new décor will provide students with an immersive and engaging learning environment with plenty of spaces for our kids to get lost in their imagination. The changes made to the Village will play an important role in nurturing early-childhood curiosity and development.

Walking into the Village, students will see the sunny colours of a welcoming, child-sized community. Improvements include:

  • Black Dolphin Cove, a delightful seaside space for role-playing to encourage social-emotional growth, speech and language, and cognitive development.

  • The Backyard, an indoor play area with a treehouse, climbing wall and play equipment for PE to help develop fine and gross motor skills.

  • The AR Wall, an interactive, augmented reality big screen loaded with more than 200 games for cooperative and team play, and problem-solving.

  • Our Park, a communal shared assembly space and indoor park. The Park has lanes for tricycles, scooters and balance bikes, as well as traffic lights so children can play-practice road safety and have fun. Taking centre-stage in this area is a library with a puppet theatre!

Classes begin August 29. The Harbour Village is still accepting admission applications and offering tours of this wonderful learning space. For more information, or to book a tour, please visit our website: www.ths.edu.hk.
