Makerspace Technician Assistant

We are seeking a creative, experienced, collegial, and well-organized individual to serve as Makerspace Technician Assistant in the school’s MakerSpace.  


  • Work closely with and under the direction of the Makerspace Coordinator or Manager. 

  • Help maintain a creative, safe, and fun Foundry environment for the community.

  • Track inventory and order new consumables. 

  • Maintain MakerSpace materials, tools, and equipment including hardware and software.  

  • Support teachers with the development and management of their classes.   

  • Provide formal and informal technology-related training and assistance for staff and students.  

  • Participate in monthly planning meetings, monitor space usage numbers, and ensure safety measures are in place and in use by all participants.

  • Research, develop and prototype innovative maker activities.

  • As assigned, occasionally participate in events outside the workday schedule. 



  • Passion and knowledge about the use of technologies to support creative, engaged STEAM learning in a Maker environment.

  • Experienced in the use of computer hardware, software, 3D printers, laser printer, woodworking tools and sewing machines.

  • Knowledge with software such as Adobe illustrator.   

  • Strong communication skills that accommodate a diverse population of learners.  

  • Sound organizational skills. 

  • Maintain professional flexibility including the ability to reorganize work priorities when necessary.  

  • Experience with basic programming and one-board computers such as arduinos, raspberry pi, etc; or ability and interest to learn. 

  • Interest and abilities in physical computing, open-source hardware and software, video and audio production, and desktop fabrication. 

  • Comfortable with a hands-on approach, particularly an ability to improvise with audiences of varied ages, the use of hand tools, electronics, computer software, hardware, and various other technologies. 

Upper Primary Head Teacher

The Harbour School is currently looking for an Upper Primary Head Teacher to begin with us in January 2020 to July 2020, with a possibility of extending the contract to 2 years.

Requirements: A Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Education, Native-level proficiency in English speaking, reading and writing and the right to work in Hong Kong.

We are always looking for registered teachers, teaching assistants and specialist subject teachers. Applicants should have excellent, native-level proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing. If you are energetic, creative, have experience working with Early childhood, Primary and Middle School ​students and are available for supply coverage.
