The Harbour School Debate Team Advances to Semi-Finals in 2026 UNSDG Debate Competition

On 10 February 2026, The Harbour School Debate Team competed in the quarter-finals of the UNSDG Debate against Wycombe Abbey School. Representing THS, Coco, Olive, and Nayantara argued the affirmative side of the motion, “Swimming lessons should be mandatory for secondary students in Hong Kong.”
The team delivered a well-structured case and effectively rebutted the opposition’s arguments surrounding feasibility and equity, ultimately securing the win. In addition to the team’s success, Nayantara was recognised as Best Speaker for her strong delivery and persuasive reasoning.
With this result, THS advances to the semi-finals following the Chinese New Year. Congratulations to the team on their excellent performance!
