FISH Chinese New Year

Beyond the lai see and fireworks, bring some cultural appreciation within the context of fun and games this Chinese New Year. Whether they're new to Hong Kong or born here, all participants will enjoy being off-line with festivities the "old school way." We'll start off learning how to make glittering bing tanghulu (糖葫芦) fruit popsicles, take on some playful strategy behind mahjong tiles, test our skills with 'Chinese jump rope', learn how to race spinning ice tops, explore folklore and mask-making, and enjoy some culinary fun with dumplings and sweet treats.  Join our CNY cultural celebration held in both Mandarin and English to experience Chinese new year to play, create, and celebrate the Year of the Horse in the most fun way possible!

Wear clothes you can move in, bring your own water and a snack.

Make the CNY break a bonding experience by creating meaningful memories as parents and kids create your own soap. Whether it's a gift for a grandparent or the household, this soap-making workshop is a playful adventure where kids and parents become a creative team. Little hands will love stirring vibrant natural colors and choosing playful scents like juicy mandarin or calming lavender from our garden of essential oils.

Enjoy the holistic process of transforming wholesome ingredients like soothing oats and golden honey into something beautiful and useful. It’s a screen-free zone filled with laughter, collaboration, and just the right amount of messy. Together, you’ll craft unique, skin-loving soaps and even lovelier memories, making this a fragrant new tradition for your festive break.

This workshop is for an adult and child. Anyone can join whether it's an older sibling (16+), parent, grandparent, godparent or relative. 

Begin the Year of the Horse with a Sailing Adventure

20 Feb Choose 10AM-2PM* or 1-5PM*

Bring visiting relatives or friends aboard the Black Dolphin, a magnificent 1940s 50-foot sailing ketch on a private sail showcasing Hong Kong's impressive scenic southern shores.

Enjoy quality time by learning simple navigation or enjoying a pleasure sail past picturesque coastlines with quick, scenic stops at  South Bay or Middle Island. Get a quick stretch and photo opportunity before returning to Aberdeen with the smell of salt and a unique experience on a vintage tall ship.

No experience is needed, just a spirit of adventure! It’s the perfect way to create lasting memories with visiting friends, relatives or to commemorate a birthday or anniversary.  Nothing brings memories like the magic of sailing together.

**Please bring your own beverages, cold sandwiches/snacks. There is no cutlery/cooking/food heating on board. Choose your own time slot for a 4 or 6 hour sail with some discussion possible with the Captain on places to visit.
