Registration & Payment 

1. Securing Your Spot: To confirm your child’s place in the course, please complete your payment at the time of registration by submitting proof of payment on the registration form where indicated.
2. First-Come, First-Served: Spaces are limited to maintain excellent instructor-to-student ratios. Placements are allocated strictly in the order that both the registration form and payment are received.
3. Payment Methods: We accept payments via Bank Transfer. Please ensure you send a copy or screenshot of your transfer receipt with your camper’s full name, date and title of the camp to compass@ths.edu.hk so we can credit your account correctly. Invoices are issued for SEA courses, but not issued for F.I.S.H. courses.  If you require an invoice, please write to finance@ths.edu.hk requesting an invoice for the F.I.S.H course.
4. Final Confirmation: Once everything is processed, we will send a confirmation of acceptance to your registered email address 7 days before the course begins.
5. Admission: Please note that students cannot be admitted to classes or excursions until registration and payment are fully completed.
6. In the event of course cancellations due to insufficient enrollment, you have two choices: 1) Request a refund which includes a 30$ fee or 2) Roll-over your payment for COMPASS credit which can be used for a range of courses within 6 months beyond the date of the class that was cancelled. E.g. if you paid for a camp that was to take place on July 2 2026 and it was canceled, you may have a credit to be spent by Jan 2, 2027.

Weather Arrangements 

Your child's safety is our absolute priority. Our weather policies follow Hong Kong Observatory guidelines and apply specifically to our on-site and outdoor excursion courses. SEA courses held during the school day are subject to the school announcements for that day. SEA courses held on weekends or on non-school days and FISH courses held during school holidays will be subject to the below policies. Please note that there are no refunds for adjustments or arrangements made in the interest of safety.

• Virtual Classes: If your course includes online components, all virtual classes will proceed as scheduled regardless of the weather.
• Rain & Standard Weather: Outdoor excursions may be modified or moved indoors if it rains, but camp will continue to run. 
  • Black Dolphin Sails: The Boat Captain holds the sole and absolute discretion to assess water and weather conditions, and retains the express right to cancel or postpone a sail for any safety reason. The Captain does not require a formal government weather warning (such as a Typhoon, Thunderstorm, or Amber/Red/Black Rain signal) to make this call. If a sail is canceled, a fantastic alternative activity will be conducted indoors or outdoors as appropriate. When possible, we will notify you of these changes via email within 24 hours of the scheduled camp day.
• Inclement Weather (Typhoons & Red/Black Rain): Our staff closely monitors and assesses weather conditions before leading campers outdoors. If a severe weather warning—such as a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, or a Red or Black Rainstorm Warning—is raised suddenly while an excursion is underway, our team will immediately secure the safest possible indoor conditions for the campers. This may require remaining indoors at the excursion venue until it is entirely safe for buses or cars to transport campers back. In these scenarios, parents and guardians are responsible for actively checking their emails and phones for real-time dismissal and pickup updates.
  • If the Typhoon Warning Signal No. 1 or the Amber Rainstorm Warning is issued, all courses will be held as scheduled. Outdoor excursions which are weather-sensitive such as hikes, sails and the like which will have an alternate activity held on the day. 
  • If the Typhoon Warning Signal No. 3 is issued 2+ hours before the course starts: Courses offered for 5 year olds and up will be held as scheduled with courses suspended for 4 year olds and below. Courses with mixed-aged groups such as 4-7 years old will be held as scheduled with 4- year old scholars able to attend with parental consent. This is in accordance with EDB weather policy for children under 5 years old. 
  • 2 HOURS BEFORE CAMP START TIME, if a Red/Black Rainstorm and/or Typhoon Signal No. 8+ is raised, on-site and outdoor classes will be suspended for safety. E.g. the camp starts at 11 AM, the signal must be raised by 9 AM HKT with announcements for camp suspensions made via email. 
  • DURING THE CAMP OR LESS THAN 2 HOURS BEFORE CAMP START: If a Red/Black Rainstorm and/or Typhoon Signal No. 8+ is raised, any of the following actions may apply:
    • For campers en route to the school: Check your email and your phones. THS will make every effort to reach all campers’ guardians and parents to ascertain distance from the school and safety. 
    • Campers already on site: will remain on-site safely with staff until THS can arrange safe dismissal with pick-up arrangements for all campers.

It is the responsibility of parents and guardians to check their email / SMS or Hong Kong Observatory before leaving for camp, particularly in inclement weather.

Photography & Multimedia 

We love capturing the magic of our camp experiences!

• By enrolling in our courses, you agree that The Harbour School / COMPASS may take photographs and videos of camp activities.
• These materials may be used for educational purposes, school newsletters, or future promotional materials. 
• Your Privacy Matters: If you prefer that your child not be photographed or filmed, simply let us know in writing five days before the course starts, and we will gladly accommodate your request. Your email to compass@ths.edu.hk should include the camper’s full name and the camp dates.
