Registration

SEA Courses are divided into two categories for classes, events or workshops that take place during the weeks that school is in session during the THS calendar year:

Weekday SEA Course classes after school that generally begin within 20 minutes of the completion of a typical THS school day: Mon, Tue, Thu Fri 3.45PM and Wed at 1.15 PM. These courses are typically from 45-120 minutes long, depending on the activity.

Weekday SEA Course classes before school that generally begin 30 minutes before the start of a typical THS school day: M-F 7.45 AM. These courses are typically 30 minutes long, depending on the activity.

Weekend SEA Course workshops or events that are stand-alone events or workshops for students, parents, caregivers or other education professionals which take place on Saturdays from 3-8 hours long.

1. Registration:

   a. Registration for weekday courses begins at least 2 weeks before the end of the last term. Current THS families with DDA set-up will have fees automatically deducted once the course is confirmed to run. Families without DDA set-up will be billed on their school portal. Non-THS families will be billed separately.

   b. Registration for weekend workshops or events begins at least one month before the event or workshop runs through to one week before the day of the activity. Current THS families with DDA set-up will have fees automatically deducted once the course is confirmed to run. Families without DDA set-up will be billed on their school portal. Non-THS families will be billed separately.

2. Registration is on a rolling basis with Early Bird pricing for all sign ups by August 22. Registration continues through to the first week of SEA Courses. Please note the school does not pro-rate SEA courses for late-joiners.
3. Signing up for any SEA course activity is a confirmation that all terms and conditions have been accepted by the parent or guardian, including auto-deducted payment.
4. Placement is allocated to applicants on a first-come-first-served basis. 
5. Confirmation of acceptance is emailed within 7 days prior to the SEA course start date.
6. If the SEA course does not run for any reason, parents will be notified at least 7 days before the expected start date and no payment will be deducted with the applicant placed on a waitlist. The SEA course coordinator will contact you with an alternative or you can contact our S.E.A. course coordinator at seacourses@ths.edu.hk to inquire about other class availability.
7. Invoices are not issued for SEA courses. If you require an invoice, please contact our Finance Department at finance@ths.edu.hk to request one.
8. Requests to change a SEA Course should be made in writing and sent to seacourses@ths.edu.hk. Requests should be given prior to confirmation emails being sent. If notice is given after the confirmation is sent, a HK$500 administration fee will be charged.

Cancellations

1. If THS is required to make any changes to a S.E.A. course, a suitable replacement option will be provided. We will inform you via email or phone of any changes as soon as possible.
2. Requests to withdraw an application should be made in writing. Please refer to the withdrawal and refund policies for more information.
3. Refunds will not be issued for withdrawal of a S.E.A. course within 5 days of the first day of the course. 
4. In the event of unforeseen circumstances which cannot be controlled by THS that pose unmanageable risks to applicant health and/or safety, THS reserves the right to provide online courses and/or other alternative programs. If this arises, THS will update you regularly via email. The S.E.A. course will continue for the full length, as advertised, but in this new format. No refunds shall be provided.
5. While S.E.A. courses are regarded as extracurricular activities that fall outside of the majority of the Education Bureau (EDB) restriction, THS shall comply with the specific requirements mandated by EDB with regards to mandatory school closing(s) including but not limited to severe weather or government advisories.

Weather

1. If a Typhoon Warning Signal No. 1, No. 3 or the Amber Rainstorm Warning is issued, S.E.A. courses are held as scheduled. 
2. If the Red or Black Rainstorm Warning, or the Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 or above is issued or in effect at 1:30 PM or onwards, on-site S.E.A. courses will be cancelled.
3. If a Red or Black Rainstorm Warning, or Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 or above is issued while S.E.A. courses are in session:
   • S.E.A. courses held at The Grove campus will continue and campuses will remain open with staff to supervise students on premises so they may remain until parents can arrange pick up safely.
   • S.E.A. courses held outside or those on a field trip will return to The Grove campus immediately (or at a safe pick up point) and parents will be asked to pick up students as soon as possible. The Grove will remain open with staff to supervise students. 
4. If a S.E.A. course is cancelled or suspended due to the severe weather, no refunds or credit notes will be provided.
5. Weather policies are subject to change depending on the S.E.A. course (e.g. outdoor activities such as hiking, biking or sailing may be cancelled should Typhoon No. 3 or Amber rain be hoisted).

Photography and Multimedia

By completing the S.E.A. course form, you (as the guardian) are providing your consent for THS to take photographs, videos and sound recordings during the activity or S.E.A. course. Such material may be used for parental reference, marketing and/or promotional material in the forms of print, media and online platforms. If you do not consent, please email seacourses@ths.edu.hk before completing the registration form.

Transportation

NO PRIVATE VEHICLES OR TAXIS are allowed to bring students to and from The Grove campus. Should you require special considerations, please email seacourses@ths.edu.hk for more information.
