High School (Grades 9-12)

A message from the Co-Principals, Kyle King & Alison Kutlaca

As a rich, vibrant and exciting learning environment, The Harbour School High School seeks to celebrate individuals through the curation of a personalized school program.
Since opening in 2007, we have made it our mission for every child to feel welcomed, inspired and respectfully considered.
At THS, learning is influenced, not regulated, by American curricula and is leveraged to shape a learning experience that balances the academics and the experiential. With this approach, our program allows students the opportunity of choice and autonomy. Our classes are not siloed by subject matter or age, but instead thoughtfully bridge the gap for cross-curricular, multi-age learning to reflect real life challenges that exist beyond a high school world.

Students are encouraged to explore and investigate their passions and interests in a way that transcends the four walls of a classroom. At any given time during the school day, students may be located at our Grove campus in the Marine Science Center, The Foundry, the Blackbox Theater, or on our sailboat, The Black Dolphin. Students may be at an internship or on a school-organized field trip.

With this in mind, our campus has been carefully designed to reflect a dynamic co-working space, compatible with collaboration and creativity, intended as their “home-base”. From Grades 9 - 12, students are surrounded by a supportive team of subject experts, advisors and support staff, including a full time social-emotional counsellor, college and careers counsellor and learning support coordinator. Within our supportive environment, students are provided choice, responsibility and direction to ensure they will thrive within the 21st century.
We could not have asked for more in a High School for our son and we could not have been given more by THS. Thank you for the difference you have made in his life, giving him room to express himself and never giving up on him.
Michael, Parent
