Global Classrooms

The Global Classroom program offers students the opportunity to apply for credit-bearing experiences ranging from 1-6 weeks in length that take place, in part or in full, outside of Hong Kong. It is an immersive experience beyond what our international trips offer, stretching students in new ways to deeply develop global competencies and personal growth.

Global Classrooms are not fixed in the calendar and run depending on the experience provided, for example a Global Classroom to the UN Conference of Parties (COP) typically takes place in November while classes are in session. This requires students keeping up with their other classwork while attending the two week conference abroad facilitated through combination asynchronous and synchronous arrangements with the teachers. Students are not required to enroll in these courses to graduate but are encouraged to engage in at least one Global Classroom opportunity over the course of their high school career.

Guiding Principles:

Authenticity: Immersive learning experience foster personal development. Genuine connections between academic studies and real-world challenges are a big focus.

Relevance: Inspiration to think beyond the syllabus, encouraging students to question course objectives and relate their learning to future goals

Collaboration: Group projects, living away from home and learning in a new environment enhances collaborative skills

Resilience: Experiences abroad facilitate independence and resilience. Facing challenges outside their usual comfort zone students learn to manage conflict and adapt through iterative learning.

Cultural Awareness: Students gain valuable insights by engaging with diverse contexts, linking course objectives to the heritage of their travel destinations.
